Vladimer Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics of the Georgian Technical University

The Vladimer Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics of the Georgian Technical University was founded on October 3, 1960 by the Resolution # 690 of the Council of Ministers of the Georgian SSR in the form of the Institute of Cybernetics of the Georgian Academy of Sciences. Based on Resolution # 58 of the Government of Georgia dated March 16, 2006, the Institute was transformed into a legal entity of public law and renamed into a legal entity of the Institute of Cybernetics. According to the Resolution # 61 of the Government of Georgia of March 2, 2010, the institute was named after its founder, Academician Vladimir Chavchanidze. Based on the Resolution # 185 of the Government of Georgia dated July 9, 2010, the Institute was reorganized as a Structural Unit of the Technical University of Georgia – an independent scientific-research institute.

Vladimir Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics Mission Statement:
To promote the advancement of modern science and technology through interdisciplinary research. To generate both fundamental and applied new knowledge that supports the development of future technologies and the progress of society. The Institute continues to uphold the founding vision by bringing together mathematicians, cyberneticists, physicists, chemists, and biologists under one roof, in order to create innovative scientific and engineering solutions.
